Assignment 1 - Room*
Purpose:
Learn how to create a small environment. How to use Starter Content assets. Rubric: Build a small room/house using Starter Content. 10 items (must have 4 walls) 3 lights/fire including a sun (Video 5) 1 atmospheric fog to create a sky NO CHECKERBOARDS (everything must have a material!) How to turn in: Screen capture and place in WORK DROP FOLDER as 6_Last_First_Room.png. Shortcuts: F to frame up on an object (period for Blender) Left mouse: marquee selection Roll mouse wheel: zoom in and out Right Mouse: rotate to turn right and left Middle Mouse (or left right mouse click together): Track up and down E up Q down C zoom in by changing field of view (like the milimeter lens on a camera) Maya Style: Alt Left Mouse (Tumble mouse around whatever is selected and framed up on) (This is Blender's left mouse drag) Alt Right (Dolly in and out towards and away) Alt Middle Mouse button (Move around) What to learn: 4 view: Click upper right button to see 4 views at once with 1 in perspective and the other 3 in orthographic wireframe. How to change view modes (wireframe, lit, etc) Change Camera Speed (Video 2) * Starter Content is needed for this project. If your computer does not have it, you will need to tell me so I can file a Help Desk Ticket. After that, use a laptop by signing it out from the black cabinet every class and returning it. Internet available.
Assignment 2 - Level 1Be free to explore any idea you want, as long as you can find a set of Static Meshes (models) to support the idea. I recommend going to Marketplace/Learn section. I do not recommend importing .obj files from Blender because of time constraints, but you may.
Learn Blueprint basics like how to open and close a door. Blueprint is the visual scripting language (like Blender's logic editor). |
